In December 2023, the
Russian Gallery Association (AGA) held its inaugural large-scale industrial contemporary art fair, |catalog|, with leading Russian art galleries as participants. It was hosted at the 1st Exemplary Gosizdat Typolithography Workshop (named after Ivan Sytin), a historic building in central Moscow, built in 1903 from designs by architect A. E. Erichson and with contributions from engineer Vladimir Shukhov.
At the fair, Syntax Gallery presented works by Lidia Zhudro (b. 1991), alongside by Olya Kroytor (b. 1986) and Liudmila Konstantinova (b. 1980). Their artworks are linked by themes of disappearance or silence and the disintegration of familiar syntax and semantic structures, with each artist employing their unique toolsets to explore these concepts.
The fair featured paintings and graphics by Lidia Zhudro from the Attempts at Compromise (2023) series, as well as paintings and a book from the 間 (MA) (2023) project.
