«Цель программы резиденции «Broadcasting the archive» — возродить и транслировать архив Arte Útil внутри и за пределами музейного контекста, разработав серию мероприятий, программ, семинаров и дискуссий, проводимых различными организациями. Начиная с архивных карточек, звуковых и видеодокументов, интервью, лексикона терминов и так далее, наша цель — разрушить физические стены учреждения через призыв к действию, став источником вдохновения как для специализированной публики, так и для неподготовленной аудитории современного искусства.

Во время семинара, специально созданного для UNIDEE, мы проанализировали некоторые тематические исследования в связи с критериями Arte Útil, обсудили термины из «Toward a Lexicon of Usership» Стивена Райта и экспериментировали с различными методиками, связанными с идеей «обучения через действие», посредством физических упражнений.

Arte Útil переводится с английского как «полезное искусство», но оно предлагает рассматривать искусство как инструмент или устройство, которое можно использовать в поисках устойчивых решений для социальных изменений.

Понятие «Arte Útil» было разработано с помощью ряда критериев, сформулированных Таней Бругерой в сотрудничестве с кураторами и исследователями из Van Abbemuseum (Эйндховен), Queens Museum (Нью-Йорк) и Grizedale Arts (Конистон)».

«Broadcasting the archive aims to re-activate and mediate the Arte Útil's archive withins and beyond the museum context, developing a series of activities, programs, workshops and discussions hosted by different organizations. Starting from archive cards, sound and video documents, interviews, a lexicon of terms and so on, our objective is to break the physical walls of the institution through a call for action, becoming a source of inspiration both for a specialized public as well as a non-trained contemporary art audience.

During the workshop specifically conceived for UNIDEE, we have analyzed some case studies in relation to the Arte Útil criteria, have discussed some terms from 'Toward a Lexicon of Usership' by Stephen Wright, and have experimented with different methodologies related to the idea of 'learning by doing' through physical exercises in the space.

Arte Útil roughly translates into English as 'useful art', but it proposes considering art as a tool or a device to be used in search for sustainable solutions to social change.

The notion of what constitutes Arte Útil has been developed via a set of criteria formulated by Tania Bruguera in collaboration with curators and researchers at Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), Queens Museum (New York) and Grizedale Arts (Coniston)».
