Drawing on the history and anthropology of one of the most enigmatic and mystical regions—Karelia— and the northern Ladoga area, particularly the town of Sortavala, the artist’s residency project visualized
the idea of a "poetics of place." It took shape as a localized visual asemic language, fulfilling both
communicative and sacral functions.
As part of the residency, an asemic poetry workshop and a public talk with local residents were held.
